Laanila High School wore blue-yellow incentive signs on Thursday, a month after the start of the war in Ukraine.
The school heard how Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, in a video speech on Thursday, called on people around the world to take to the streets to protest against the Russian attack.
Zelenskyi asked people to leave their homes, offices, schools and universities in the name of peace to show support for Ukraine; freedom and life, bearing symbols depicting Ukraine.
Tiina Fredriksson, a teacher at Laanila High School, says that the school's Green Flag Unesco Club gave rise to an ex tempore idea of action. There was a desire to respond to Zelensky's appeal.

A meeting had already been arranged with the high school students involved in the club, during which posters were made to support Ukraine.
- The students announced at the school whether other volunteers wanted to come along as well.
Fredriksson notes that students between the ages of 16 and 18 have been anxious and sad about the war. Many would like to help somehow.
Laanila High School has already organized a collection for Ukraine, which sent medicines and camping equipment, among other things, to the people of Ukraine.
On Thursday, the making of incentive signs culminated in the school yard, where high school students cheered Slava Ukraini! - Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to Ukraine! The call for encouragement is hoped to carry and entice others to act as well.

- The team spirit was intoxicating. Everyone clapped their hands and hearts were sent. We were trying to do something that made us feel easier for a moment, Fredriksson explained.
She hopes the example of Laanila students would inspire others to act likewise.
- We also hope that Finland will be filled with pictures and messages that support Ukraine. Perhaps at least some of them will reach ordinary Russian citizens who are innocent and ignorant of the senseless war Putin started.
